The Swimming School is a privately run school that aims to deliver small well run classes in which all pupils can achieve their full potential. An experienced, friendly swimming teacher teaches all of the children’s lessons. All staff are fully CRB checked.

We offer a high standard of swimming tuition in a safe environment for children of all abilities from 4 years of age upwards. Safety is paramount and all swimmers are taught to treat the water with respect. They learn correct entry and exit techniques, treading water and other safety skills.

At present we have the use of the pool at the Barnabas Adventure Centre in the Weald (Sevenoaks), which is a 15m by 8m pool and is perfect for teaching both non-swimmers and improvers. There is only ever one class running in the pool at anyone time so children cannot be distracted by other lessons taking place.

We follow the ASA National plan for the teaching of swimming, which has recently been revised to include a wider range of skills from young swimmers through to pre-competition swimmers. We also teach the skills necessary to pass the challenge awards Bronze /Silver /Gold and at the end of each term all children are given the opportunity to gain and achieve certificates and badges.

In the summer term, as a large proportion of children take holidays near swimming pools or by the sea, we feel it is important to teach basic water survival skills. However the main aim of the school is to teach children how to swim and really develop their technique and where possible help them to progress to club level.
